Traffic stop leads to drug charge in Greenwich

A 28-year-old man is facing a drug charge after a traffic stop on Hwy 1 in Greenwich yesterday afternoon.

As part of an ongoing investigation, members of the Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (VISCEU), with assistance from Windsor Street Crime Enforcement Unit and Kings District RCMP, stopped a car on Hwy 1 at approximately 4:30 p.m. yesterday. Officers located and seized 165 grams of cocaine in the car and arrested the driver at the scene.

Jonathan Ross Allen, New Minas, has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine). He is scheduled to appear today in Kentville Provincial Court.

The investigation is ongoing.

Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (VISCEU) consists of members of the Kentville Police Service and the Kings District RCMP.
