Suspect in custody after Yellowknife RCMP stop Somba K’e Park assault in progress

Yellowknife RCMP arrested an adult male for an assault that took place in the late evening hours of Saturday, August 5th.


At approximately 10:50 pm, Yellowknife RCMP responded to a call for service regarding an assault in Somba K'e Park. Officers attended and located an assault in progress involving two males. Officers arrested a male suspect on scene. City of Yellowknife Emergency Medical Services attended and transported the victim to Stanton Territorial Hospital for medical attention.

Charges were sworn before a justice of the peace on Sunday. Jerry Rogers, 34, of Yellowknife is charged with one count of Assault Causing Bodily Harm – CC 267(b) and one count of Fail to Comply Probation Order – CC 733.1(1).

Rogers has been remanded until Wednesday, August 9th.
