December 7, 2017
Fall River, Nova Scotia

News release

Halifax District RCMP is investigating theft of snow blowers from a business on Highway 2 in Fall River.

Sometime between 7 p.m. on December 5 and 8 a.m. on December 6, suspects entered a secure compound and stole 4 Husqvarna snow blowers, 1 Toro snow blower, 1 unknown brand track snow blower, and 1 Briggs and Stratton 20 HP lawn mower engine. The Husqvarna snow blowers are described as being black and orange in colour, Models in the 200 and 300 series. The total value of equipment stolen is in excess of $28,000. Suspects also caused damage to the compound during the break and enter.

"With winter approaching, thieves target snow removal equipment," says Cpl. Dal Hutchinson, Halifax District RCMP. "If someone offers to sell you a brand new snow blower for a cheap price, this should raise some red flags."

The investigation is ongoing and RCMP is asking if anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Halifax District RCMP at 902-490-5020. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you can also contact Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or text TIP202 + your message to 'CRIMES' (274637) or submit tips by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca.
