The search for the missing female who disappeared while picking mushrooms on July 3, continued today in the Reid Lake area.

RCMP continued the search with the assistance of the Civil Air Search and Rescue (CASARA), Yellowknife Ground Search and Rescue (YKSAR), a chartered helicopter and RCMP Police Dog Service Unit.

The Transport Canada Dash 8, which is equipped with Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) technology, was able to assist again today.

"The search is difficult due to the large and remote geographical location. Ground search is being conducted in a challenging terrain. We commend the efforts of the search organizations in persevering through the challenging conditions ", states Marie York-Condon, Northwest Territories RCMP Media Relations.

The RCMP continues to respectfully request that persons who are not involved in the search to please stay out of the area as it may interfere with search efforts. Safety is priority for all parties involved in this search and rescue operation.

The search will continue throughout the weekend.

Updates will be provided as information becomes available.
