RCMP taking part in critical incident training

The RCMP will be taking part in scenario training in St. John's on May 18, 2017 between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The training will be held at the former Bishop's College at 196 Pennywell Road in St. John's.

The Critical Incident Team training will involve officers negotiating with actors who will portray barricaded persons and hostages. A number of police officers as well as the RCMP mobile command post will be at the school during the day.

This scenario based training will better equip officers in how to respond to high-risk critical situations.

Media are invited to observe the training scenarios and to view the RCMP's Mobile Command Unit on Thursday, May 18, 2017 between 11:00 a.m. and noon.
