With increased traffic across the Island, especially in the Cavendish area for this weekend's Cavendish Beach Music Festival, RCMP are emphasizing that driving while impaired, speeding, and open liquor violations will be a focus and everyone is asked to adhere to the law, for their own safety and the safety of others.

So far this weekend, RCMP had three (3) impaired driving charges; one 90-day suspension and 2 7-day suspensions.

RCMP are happy to report that traffic moved seamlessly in and out of the venue parking lots without an issue and will be continuing with pro-active enforcement throughout the day to ensure the safety of the public and the concert goers.

Let's all do our part and enjoy a safe and fun concert event!
