RCMP Serious Crime Unit investigating two-vehicle collision near Christopher’s Cove

RCMP Serious Crime Unit are investigating a two-vehicle collision that occurred on the North Shore Highway near Christopher's Cove.

At approximately 12:00 midnight on August 4, 2017, RCMP responded to a serious motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles. The driver of one of the vehicles, a 57-year-old man, was trapped inside the car and had to be removed by emergency crews. The driver of the second car, a 29-year old woman, was ejected from her vehicle.

Both the man and woman were rushed to Western Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. The man and woman are in critical condition but their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The Bay of Islands Ground Search and Rescue and Corner Brook Royal Newfoundland Constabulary also assisted with managing the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
