RCMP seizes crack cocaine and marihuana during drug search

On April 21, following an investigation, Yarmouth/Clare RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) searched a home on Comeau Rd. RCMP officers seized amounts of crack cocaine, marihuana products, prescription pills, a loaded sawed-off shotgun, cash and surveillance equipment. Other unidentified substances believed to be drugs have been sent to the RCMP lab for examination. Assistance was provided by members of Digby RCMP GIS and RCMP Police Dog Services.

Laurent Paul "Sticky" Bourque, 55, of Comeauville, has been charged with three counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Careless Use of a Firearm, Unsafe Storage of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device, and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.

Mr. Bourque was arrested on April 21 and was held in custody over the weekend. He appeared in Digby Provincial Court yesterday and was released on conditions. He returns to court on May 15.

The investigation is ongoing.
