RCMP seize drugs, make multiple arrests during checkpoint in Mabou

At approximately 5:30 p.m. on September 9, Inverness County District RCMP conducted a checkpoint in Mabou that resulted in drugs seized and multiple arrests.

During the checkpoint, a small quantity of cocaine was seized from a 36-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, both of Mabou. They were arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (cocaine). A 34-year-old man of Shubenacadie was arrested and charged for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (marihuana and cocaine). A quantity of cocaine, marihuana, cash and drug paraphernalia was seized from his vehicle. The checkpoint also resulted in a 54-year-old man of Mabou being arrested for driving while impaired.

All individuals were released and are scheduled to appear in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court on October 30, 2017.
