RCMP make significant cocaine seizure in Sheshatshiu

RCMP have laid charges as a result of a cocaine trafficking investigation within the community of Sheshatshiu.

On December 1, 2017 Sheshatshiu RCMP, in conjunction with Labrador District GIS, and Goose Bay Police Dog Services, initiated an investigation into cocaine trafficking in the community of Sheshatshiu.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Sheshatshiu and the seizure of significant amount of cocaine, a large quantity of Canadian currency and ammunition.

Fifty-three-year-old Scott Diamond of Goose Bay was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine, Trafficking Cocaine, and Contravention of a Lifetime Weapons Prohibition. Diamond is currently in police custody pending a court appearance.

The effect of the removal of these illegal drugs from the community is significant and represents the strong cooperation between RCMP units in Labrador District and the communities they serve.
