RCMP investigating suspicious fire that destroyed walking bridge

The Caraquet detachment of the Northeast District RCMP is asking for the public's help in investigating a suspicious fire of a bridge in Inkerman, N.B.

On September 14, 2017, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Caraquet RCMP and area fire crews responded to a fire that completely destroyed a wooden walking bridge on rue du Moulin in Inkerman. The bridge is part of the New Brunswick Trail System, and is used by the public for walking and cycling. It is also used by ATV and snowmobile drivers. The cause of the fire is considered suspicious.

The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the Fire Marshal's office.
