RCMP investigating assault of woman

The Codiac Regional RCMP is investigating after a woman was assaulted with a weapon. It happened around 9:50 p.m. on April 27, 2017 near the intersection of Elmwood Drive and Highway #2 in Moncton. The woman was walking near the intersection when she was approached and grabbed by a man who was holding a weapon. She was forced to a nearby wooded area but managed to fight off her assailant. The suspect fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his mid-twenties to early thirties, with dark hair. He was wearing a white hoodie.
