RCMP investigates serious injury collision

The RCMP is investigating a serious injury collision on Hwy 340.

RCMP responded to the collision at 7:42 p.m. on August 20. A preliminary investigation determined that a black Suzuki model sports bike motorcycle was travelling southbound on Hwy 340 when it lost control. The rider, a 38 year-old male, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted by LifeFlight to hospital in Halifax.

An RCMP collision analyst, Weymouth Volunteer Fire Department, EHS and the Department of Transportation attended the scene.

The motorcycle was seized and the investigation is ongoing.
