News release

The Shediac detachment of the RCMP is reminding residents, summer visitors and tourists to take precautions to prevent theft.

"This is a beautiful part of the province and a great place to enjoy the nice weather," says Cpl. Eric Hanson of the Shediac RCMP. "A few simple precautions will help keep your belongings safe and ensure your summer is memorable for the right reasons."

Those precautions include ensuring your vehicle doors are locked at all times, and that valuables are kept out of sight. People visiting the beach or sightseeing are encouraged to take a minimum of valuables with them, and to ensure someone stays with their belongings at all times. Those staying in cottages and campers should also make sure their doors are locked when they're away.
