Early in the morning on November 25, 2017, Port-aux-Basques RCMP responded to a complaint of an assault at a local bar on Caribou Road in Port-aux-Basques.
The RCMP investigation revealed a 23-year-old man was assaulted by two other men. He was transported to the local hospital and treated with non-life threatening injuries.
A 20-year-old man from Port-aux-Basques has been charged with assault and breech of probation and a 19-year-old man from Cape Ray has been charged with assault. Both men will appear in court March 2018. The investigation is ongoing.
