At approximately 3:00 a.m. on September 7, 2017, Baie Verte RCMP responded to a complaint of an assault at a residence in Nipper's Harbour. The victim received minor injuries and was able to leave the residence and get to a friend's house to call police.
A 61-year-old man from Nipper's Harbour was located at his residence a short time later where he made threats against police. He was arrested and charged with assault and uttering threats and is being held in custody at Grand Falls-Windsor. He will appear in court this morning.
The investigation is continuing.
