RCMP charge impaired driver as she exits Confederation Bridge

On September 14th, 2017 at approximately 6:00 p.m., a vehicle heading towards the Island was reported to have been driving erratically on the Confederation Bridge. At one point, witnesses reported the vehicle had struck the Confederation Bridge and continued on.

Later a 34 year-old female from Dundas, P.E.I. was arrested in Borden-Carleton and charged with impaired driving offences.

The driver provided samples of her breath that were three times the legal limit.

The driver was also charged with exposing a child under ten and endangering her life. She is scheduled to appear in Summerside Court in November.

The East Prince RCMP would like to thank the responsible member of the public for taking the time to call 9-1-1 to report this occurrence, potentially saving lives and definitely removing an impaired driver from Island roads.

RCMP also ask that all members of the public to call 9-1-1 to report erratic or suspected impaired driving.
