RCMP asks for public's assistance identifying suspect in overnight assault

Yellowknife RCMP are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in an overnight assault downtown.

Around 2:45 a.m. on December 7, 2017, a 25-year-old male victim was assaulted near the Ravens' Pub on 50 Street. RCMP responded to a call for assistance from the City of Yellowknife Fire Division who were treating the victim in an ambulance. The victim was later transported to Stanton Territorial Hospital for further treatment.

A witness reported observing another male talking with the victim before the assault. The male suspect is described as about 5'4" with a broad build wearing a black hoodie and black pants. The suspect allegedly then left the scene walking towards Franklin Avenue.
