RCMP asking for public assistance to solve suspicious fire

Yarmouth Town RCMP responded to a suspicious fire at a business on Hardscratch Rd. just after 5 a.m. on August 29. RCMP investigators with assistance from the Nova Scotia Fire Marshal's Office located evidence at the scene to suggest the fire was intentionally set.

Yarmouth Town RCMP arrested two people on August 31 in relation to this investigation. Evidence was seized, however the RCMP continuing it's investigation and criminal charges are pending. The public is being asked to assist.

Investigators have located a white 5-gallon jug at the scene and have determined that the container was used to transport gasoline. The RCMP is asking for members of the public, particularly those who work at service stations in the area, to come forward if they noticed anyone filling a container like the one in the attached photo, before Tuesday August 29.
