Public assistance requested in arson investigation

At 1:36 a.m., Ingonish Beach RCMP responded to a suspected arson on the Cabot Trail in the community of Tarbot. A detached garage was on fire and firefighters at the scene believed it had been intentionally set. The garage and a small SUV and motorcycle that were inside it were completely destroyed. No one was hurt.

The RCMP will be requesting assistance from the Nova Scotia Office of the Fire Marshal, and the investigation is ongoing. Ingonish Beach RCMP is asking anyone with information about this incident to call them at 902-285-2021, or 1-800-803-RCMP (7267).
