Prince District RCMP arrest three impaired drivers in three nights

On Saturday November 25th, officers from the East Prince RCMP arrested a female driver on the Confederation Bridge after she struck a police car. The female later provided breath samples that were twice the legal limit.

On Sunday November 26th, officers from the West Prince RCMP arrested a Summerside man for impaired operation of a motor vehicle, in Springhill, PE after a call was placed from a concerned motorist. The male driver subsequently provided breath samples that were over three times the legal limit.

On Monday November 27th, officers from the East Prince Detachment arrested a male in Hampton, PE for Care and Control of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol. Blood samples were obtained from the man. This matter remains under investigation but charges are anticipated.

Police would like to caution all motorists that drinking and driving is a criminal offence which can result in various punishments including fines, loss of their driver's licence, vehicle impoundments and jail time. The 'L' Division RCMP will continue to proactively seek out those that are driving drunk on PEI roads and hold them accountable.
