News release

The Southeast District RCMP, Riverview detachment, is investigating three complaints of vehicles destroyed by fire.

On November, 18, 2017, around 7:30 a.m., police responded to a report of two vehicles on fire along the Buckley Road in Harewood, near Salisbury. The two owners parked their vehicles around 6:45 a.m. to go hunting. When they returned approximately 30 minutes later, both vehicles had been destroyed by fire.

The Riverview detachment is also investigating a similar complaint of a truck set on fire at around 5:35 p.m. on November 14 near Monteagle Road. The vehicle owner parked the truck to go hunting for approximately two hours. When he returned the truck was a total loss.

In all three cases, the fires are believed to have been deliberately set. The investigations are continuing and it's unknown at this time if the fires are connected.
