Police investigate stabbing in Cole Harbour

At approximately 2:30 a.m. this morning Halifax District RCMP responded to a stabbing incident in Cole Harbour.

The incident began as a brawl involving several people outside of Big Leagues on Cole Harbour Rd. The parties involved left the scene prior to a second altercation taking place in the parking lot of the Atlantic Superstore on Cole Harbour Rd. that resulted in a 22-year-old man being stabbed. The victim was transported to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries and was later released. A 29-year-old from Dartmouth is facing charges of Assault with a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. He is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court tomorrow at 9:30 a.m.

This incident remains under investigation by the General Investigation Section of the RCMP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division.
