Police in Cumberland County search home, seize drugs

On September 9, pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the Cumberland County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU), with assistance from the RCMP and Amherst Police Department searched a home on Brownell Ave. During the search, quantities of cocaine, psilocybin, marihuana, LSD, MDMA, shatter, and prescription pills were seized from the residence, along with drug paraphernalia and a quantity of cash.

As a result, a 26-year-old man from Amherst and a 26-year-old woman from Amherst are facing the following charges:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (x 7)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance

Both individuals have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Amherst Provincial Court on October 30.

The investigation is ongoing.
