Police arrested a Kingston man for drug trafficking and seized drugs during a traffic stop.
On July 27 at approximately 4 p.m., police conducted a vehicle stop on Highway 1 in Berwick. As a result of the stop, police seized 140 Hydromorphone pills and arrested 42-year-old Ronald William Richards, of Kingston.
The traffic stop was part of an ongoing prescription drug trafficking investigation in Kings County. The investigation is being conducted by the Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) and Kings District RCMP.
Ronald William Richards, of Kingston, has been charged with one count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. He was remanded in to custody and released by a judge. Richards will appear in Kentville Provincial Court on August 29 at 9:30 a.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
