Police arrest two people, seize drugs in targeted traffic stop

Police arrested two people and seized a significant quantity of drugs, drug paraphernalia and cash during a targeted vehicle stop on Wednesday.

At approximately 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday evening, the South Shore Integrated Street Crime Unit, with assistance from Lunenburg County District RCMP General Investigative Section, conducted a targeted vehicle stop in a business parking lot located off Hwy 10 in Cookville. A quantity of crack cocaine was seized, along with drug paraphernalia and cash.

As a result of the stop, police arrested two people: 28-year-old Timothy Charles MacKenzie of Hammonds Plains and a 25-year-old woman. Mackenzie is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine.

He was remanded into custody and will appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on August 17 at 9:30 am for a bail hearing.

The South Shore Integrated Street Crime Unit consists of members from the RCMP and the Bridgewater Police Service.
