RCMP arrests two people, seizes cocaine during traffic stop

Inverness County District RCMP arrested two people and seized 2 kg of cocaine during a traffic stop in Port Hastings on Tuesday.

Just after 1 p.m. on Tuesday, RCMP members conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 105 in Port Hastings. As a result, police seized 2 kg of cocaine and arrested the driver, a 19-year-old man from Repentigny, Quebec and the passenger, a 19-year-old woman from Repentigny, Quebec.

They are both facing charges of Trafficking Cocaine and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine.

They were released from custody and will appear in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court on November 27 at 9:30 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
