Peterview man unlawfully at large arrested and charged with flight from police

On July 15, 2017, the RCMP received a report that a man from Peterview was unlawfully at large in the Grand Falls-Windsor area. At approximately 7:30 p.m. that evening, Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP located the man, Jonathan Keefe, in the Botwood area. However, when approached by police, Keefe fled in a vehicle.

With the assistance of a RCMP Police Dog Services unit, the vehicle used by Keefe was located a short time later. A search of a wooded area near Lighthouse Road in Botwood commenced and Keefe and a woman were both taken into custody.

Keefe is charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and breaching his probation. The woman is charged with resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer, uttering threats and breaching a court ordered undertaking. Both are currently in police custody and will appear in Grand Falls - Windsor court on Tuesday, July 18, 2017.
