Get involved and have your voice heard. The RCMP in Prince Edward Island is recruiting Canadian Youth for the 2017-2018 National Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) to provide youth with a chance to be part of the conversation in policing.

The purpose of this committee is to ensure that the voice of Canadian youth is represented within the RCMP and to assist with developing effective youth strategies and initiatives across the country.

The National Committee will be in place from September 2017 until June 2018. Each participant is required to spend two to four hours per month discussing youth issues through a moderated online forum. The Committee will assist in identifying issues affecting youth, addressing community concerns and designing initiatives to foster change and address the needs of youth. As a result of participating, youth will be eligible for reference letters for:

  • scholarships;
  • employment opportunities;
  • university/college applications; and
  • volunteer hours attained during the time spent on the Committee (with the approval of their school).
  • most importantly, you will add the voice of youth into the conversation of policing in Canada
