Motorcycle collision results in impaired driving charges

Just before 6 p.m. yesterday, Yarmouth Rural RCMP was called to the scene of a single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on Highway 335. Two people were injured as a result.

RCMP officers arrived on scene to find two men who had been thrown from an off-road trail bike after it lost control, left the road, and struck a tree. Both men sustained non-life threatening injuries and required transport to hospital via EHS. The driver, a 24-year-old man from West Pubnico, was arrested for impaired driving. He provided a blood sample and is facing charges of Driving with a Blood Alcohol Content over 80 mg% and Impaired Driving. He is scheduled to appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court on July 24.

The investigation is ongoing.
