Motor Vehicle collision in Morell results in 27 year-old man being charged for Impaired Driving

On Saturday April 29th, 2017, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Kings District RCMP responded to a 911 call of a multi-vehicle collision in Morell. The scene was handled by the quick response of the Morell Fire Department and Island EMS who transported a female to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with undetermined injuries.

A 27 year-old man was arrested at the scene for impaired driving, he was taken to the Souris Detachment and provided breath samples which were over twice the legal limit. He will be facing charges, and the investigation is still ongoing. The man was lodged for the night at the Provincial Correctional Center, and he is scheduled to appear in Georgetown Court in the near future.

Police are reminding everyone with the nice weather now upon us, and more people spending time and activities outside, both on and off the water, - please drink responsibly, and do not get behind the wheel of a vehicle or boat after drinking.
