Missing man found deceased in submerged truck

A 65-year-old Havre Boucher man told his family he was going fishing on November 7 at 4 p.m. He didn't return home that evening, and by approximately noon on November 8, family members searched the area and located the man's truck, submerged at the end of the wharf in Havre Boucher. Antigonish District RCMP responded, and were assisted by Havre Boucher Volunteer Fire Department. The RCMP's Underwater Recovery Team was called to assist with the recovery of the vehicle, which was in approximately 15 feet of water.

The body of the missing man was discovered inside the submerged truck at approximately 9:45 p.m. on November 8. The vehicle was also recovered. An autopsy is being conducted by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service. Foul play is not suspected, and the investigation is ongoing.
