Man's death now investigated as a homicide

News release

On September 5th, 2017, an autopsy was performed in Vancouver on the body of 51-year-old Clayton Benoit, who died at Whitehorse General Hospital on August 30th, 2017.

Mr. Benoit was transported to the hospital by Emergency Medical Services earlier in the day on August 30th, and died later that day as a result of his injuries.

The death of Mr. Benoit is now being investigated as a homicide. The Yukon RCMP Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation.

Mr. Benoit was originally from Northwest Territories and had been living in Whitehorse for some time.
