Man found guilty of possessing and making available child pornography

A 60-year-old man from Maisonnette, N.B., has been found guilty of possessing and making available child pornography.

On February 23, 2016, a search warrant was executed at a home in Maisonnette by the RCMP in New Brunswick's Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit, with the assistance of the Caraquet RCMP and the RCMP Technological Crime Unit. Several computers and storage devices were seized and a man was arrested.

Paul Godin of Maisonnette stood trial in April and July, 2017 in Caraquet. On August 16, he was found guilty of one count of possession of child pornography, and one count of making child pornography available. He was released pending a sentencing hearing on October 11, 2017.
