A 31-year-old man from Cap-Pelé has died as a result of injuries sustained in a crash on Sunday night.
Around 11:45 p.m., on April 30, 2017, RCMP officers, paramedics and local firefighters were dispatched to Bas-Cap-Pelé Road where a car had gone off the road and struck a culvert. The driver and two passengers, an 18-year-old woman from Grande-Digue and a 19-year-old man from Moncton, were taken to the Moncton Hospital. The driver succumbed to his injuries on May 1.
The preliminary investigation indicates that speed and alcohol are possible factors in the crash. It is not known if the occupants were all wearing seatbelts.
The investigation is continuing.
