Man charged with mischief

The Richibucto Detachment of the RCMP has arrested a man in connection with five incidents of vandalism, including two at the Richibucto water system pump house.

On April 25, 2017, a house on Laurentide Street had its internet cable cut. During the evening of April 27 into the early morning of April 28, two local businesses had exterior cables cut. The same night, the Richibucto water system pump house was also damaged. The pump house was repaired on April 28, but was damaged again that same night.

Thirty-three-year-old Mathieu Robichaud of Richibucto appeared in court on May 1 and was charged with mischief and breach of an undertaking. He was remanded in custody pending a later court appearance.

The investigation is continuing.
