Man arrested and charged with assault after incident in Deer Lake

On July 24, 2017 at approximately 1:30 a.m. Deer Lake and Corner Brook RCMP responded to a complaint of a male brandishing a handgun inside a licensed establishment in Deer Lake. Upon their arrival police learned that the man had already left the establishment.

Forty-five-year-old Jamie Goodyear was located a short time later and arrested. He appeared in court the morning of July 25, 2017 and is charged with Assault with a Weapon, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Using Imitation of a Firearm in the Commission of an Offence, Assault, Carrying Concealed Weapon and Uttering Threats against a Person. He is in custody with his next court appearance on July 26, 2017.
