Mail carrier seriously injured, Campbellton, N.B.

A 37-year-old mail carrier from Campbellton has been seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle.

On November 24, 2017, shortly before 3 p.m., the Northeast District RCMP, Campbellton Detachment, was called to the scene of a single vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Vanier Street in Campbellton. Police determined the car had changed lanes, striking a man who was delivering mail on the side of the road. The mail carrier was taken to hospital in Campbellton and later airlifted to hospital in Moncton with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the car, a 45-year-old man from Dalhousie, was arrested at the scene and remains in custody. He is scheduled to appear in court in Campbellton on November 27, 2017, at 9:30 a.m.
