Lobsters stolen from crash scene may be contaminated

Overturned transport truck

On October 31, 2017, around 2 a.m., the Blackville RCMP detachment responded to an overturned transport truck on Highway 8. The driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries and released.

The truck was carrying live lobsters which spilled onto the road. A number of the lobsters were stolen from the scene before police arrived. Police are advising anyone who took the lobsters that they were contaminated with diesel fuel from the crash and are not fit for human consumption.

The investigation into the crash is continuing.
