Kinkora man sentenced for driving while disqualified

Richard Michael MacKinnon, a 43 year-old man from the Kinkora area was sentenced to 21 days in jail for driving a motor vehicle while disqualified from doing so.

This incident occurred on the 23rd of February 2017 in the Lower Freetown area when police responded to a vehicle being hit by wooden pallets after they had fallen from another vehicle. During the ensuing investigation, the accused was identified as the driver of one of the vehicles.

In sentencing, it was noted that Mr. MacKinnon had been sentenced the previous day for impaired driving and had received a driving prohibition for three years. He was permitted to serve his jail sentence on an intermittent basis.
