In the early morning hours of Thursday, July 20, Kings District RCMP responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a break, enter and assault at a residence in Souris.
As a result, RCMP arrested and charged a 29 year-old Souris man with break and enter, as well as assault with a weapon (baseball bat). The accused was held in custody overnight awaiting court appearance, a court date to be set at a later date. The victims of the assault, who were known to the assailant, sustained what are believed to be minor injuries, and were treated by IEMS at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
