On December 28, 2017, at 11:30 a.m., Kings District RCMP responded to a call from a member of thepublic of a report of multiple gun shots fired in the community of Green Meadows, P.E.I.
The caller was in Green Meadows, working at a residence, when he heard multiple shots from a rifle. The caller quickly departed the area, unsure of the location from which the shots were coming or the intended target. Once he felt he was in a safe area, he contacted the RCMP to report the event.
Kings District RCMP officers responded and secured the area. After some investigation, it was determined that shots were from an adjacent property where a local man was sighting in his hunting rifle.
At this time, no charges are being laid.
