Kings District RCMP arrest two impaired drivers over the weekend

Kings District arrested two males for Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicles over the weekend on P.E.I.

Saturday evening, September 09, 2017, Kings District RCMP responded to a collision involving a car and a tractor in the Pisquid Area. The investigation involved a car went into the ditch to avoid hitting a tractor that entered the road unsafely. The 59 year-old female driver of the car was uninjured but the passenger, a 60 year old male, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The operator of the tractor, a 59 year-old man from the area was taken into custody for Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle. The tractor operator provided breath samples more than twice the legal limit.

Sunday evening, September 10, 2017, Kings District RCMP responded to a driving complaint in the Rollo Bay area. The vehicle was located a short time later, and a 24 year-old male from the Montague area was taken into custody for Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired by Alcohol. The man provided breath samples that were almost double the legal limit.

Both men will be facing charges in provincial courts later this month.
