Halifax District RCMP investigate fatal motor vehicle collision

News release

Prior to 7:30 p.m. last evening Halifax District RCMP responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 102. The collision involved a Ford Explorer with a single occupant, a 55-year- old man from Lucasville, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle was travelling southbound on highway 102, towards Halifax, between exit 5A and 5, when the collision occurred.

An RCMP Collision Analyst was called to the scene which resulted in a section of Highway 102 being closed for over 8 hours. The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner's Office is also assisting with the ongoing investigation.

Our thoughts are with the victim's family at this difficult time.
