Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP arrest Northern Arm man for fleeing from police and impaired driving

At approximately 9:00 a.m. on September 1, 2017, Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP responded to a complaint of an impaired motorcyclist with a passenger driving on the Botwood Highway in Northern Arm.

Police quickly located the motorcyclist but he did not immediately pull over as directed by officers. Police followed the motorcycle at a safe distance until the motorcycle turned on to the T-railway heading south and pulled over.

A 36-year-old man from Pleasantview was arrested for flight from police and faces additional charges for impaired operation of a motor vehicle, impaired driving with more than 80 mg/100 ml. alcohol, driving without a current driver's license, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving an uninsured vehicle. He is scheduled to appear in court on November 29, 2017.

Police remind concerned citizens to call 9-1-1 if they suspect someone is driving while impaired.
