Grand-Barachois man and woman arrested and charged with multiple drug-related offences

A 35-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman have been charged with multiple drug offences after Southeast RCMP executed a search warrant at a home in Grand-Barachois on December 11, 2017.

During the search, the Shediac RCMP Crime Reduction Unit seized a large quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphone, oxycodone, marijuana, marijuana resin and a quantity of cash. Police also seized a conducted energy weapon and a crossbow.

Randy Scopie and Jenny Clements appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on December 12 and both were charged with seven counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. They were also charged with possession of prohibited weapon. Randy Scopie was also charged with 2 counts of breaching a court order by being in possession of conducted energy weapon and a crossbow.

Both have been remanded in custody until their next court appearance on December 13, 2017 for a bail hearing
