September 25, 2017
Glovertown, Newfoundland and Labrador

News release

On the evening of September 23, 2017, Glovertown RCMP were called to a collision on Bowater Road in Hare Bay, involving a 63-year-old pedestrian and a male youth driving a dirt bike.

Both the driver and pedestrian were taken to hospital and treated for injuries.

Glovertown RCMP would like to remind the public that the use of unlicensed dirt bikes, ATVs, and snowmobiles continues to be a matter of concern in many rural communities throughout Newfoundland. The problem is intensified when young people are permitted to operate these machines, particularly without adult supervision.

The investigation is continuing.
