September 5, 2017
Eskasoni First Nation, Nova Scotia

News release

On September 2 at 11:45 p.m., Eskasoni RCMP responded to a call indicating two men forced their way into a home on Cremo's Lane. They rushed at a man who was inside the home, and then assaulted the man and a woman who was also in the home. At one point the woman fell, nearly falling on top of an infant child who was on a couch in the room. One of the suspects had their face covered to conceal their identity.

The male victim retaliated, causing injury to one of the suspects, and they both ran from the home. A 15-year-old male youth was arrested and later released, and the investigation is ongoing. Eskasoni RCMP is asking anyone with information about this incident to call them at 902 370-2822, or should you wish to remain anonymous, you can also contact Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or text TIP202 + your message to 'CRIMES' (274637) or submit tips by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca. Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash award.
