Drugs seized during traffic stop results in arrests

Members of the Cumberland County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) conducted a traffic stop resulting in the arrest of two adults.

Prior to 7 p.m. on September 15, Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Laplanche St. in Amherst where a quantity of methamphetamine was seized. As a result, Police arrested a 49-year-old woman and a 47-year-old man, both of Amherst.

The woman was released and will appear in Amherst Provincial Court on October 30 at 9:30 a.m. to answer the charge of possession of methamphetamine. The male was released without being charged.

The investigation is ongoing.
