Campbellton RCMP warn public of recent thefts from vehicles

November 30, 2017
Campbellton, New Brunswick

News release

Over the past month, the Northeast District RCMP has responded to a number of complaints of thefts from vehicles in the Campbellton area. In many cases, the vehicles in question were unlocked, and several items were taken.

The RCMP is reminding residents to lock their vehicles and store packages and shopping bags out of sight to deter thieves looking for crimes of opportunity, especially during the holiday season. Police also recommend parking in well-lit areas, and leaving outdoor lights on when parking vehicles for the night.

Anyone who recently has been a victim of theft from a vehicle, or anyone who sees anything suspicious, is asked to contact the Campbellton RCMP detachment at 506-789-6000. Should you wish to remain anonymous, please contact Crime Stoppers toll free at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by texting TIP212 + your message to 'CRIMES' (274637), or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.

The investigation is ongoing.
